Behind the Similes is a youth-led nonprofit committed to breaking the silence around mental health. Through our anonymous tipping platform, students can speak up for their peers — or themselves — without fear or stigma.
About_Us
Behind the Similes is a student-founded nonprofit born from something we see too often: friends, classmates, and peers silently struggling with their mental health, too afraid to speak up, unsure of where to turn.
In schools, stigma still silences too many voices. So, we created a space where honesty doesn't require exposure. Here, you're not judged. You're not tracked. You're simply heard and understood.
Our platform is built on trust, safety, and complete anonymity. We don’t ask for your name, your email, or any personal details. We don’t store identifying information. Because healing starts when people feel safe, and safety starts with privacy.
Behind the Similes exists to remind you: you’re not alone, even when it feels like you have to hide behind a smile.
